Welcome to The Pillgrim’s Bookshelf.
I’m Mark Lee.
For most of my adult life, I’ve been known as guitarist for Third Day. I’ve spent decades writing songs, making records, and touring all over the place. Music has been one of the greatest joys of my life.
But I’ve always loved books just as much.
The Pilgrim’s Bookshelf is a place where those worlds come together. Here you’ll find reflections on books, music, my works-in-progress, and all those everyday moments in between. My family is a big deal to me, so they will also feature prominently. Some posts will be about a great book I just read, an album I’ve been listening to, or a song I can’t get out of my head. You’ll also see a lot of stories from the road, thoughts straight out of my journal, lessons I’ve learned on creativity, or things God is teaching me along the way.
The name comes from the idea that we’re all on a journey together, hopefully a journey home.
A few things I love:
- Good books
- Great songs
- Hiking trails
- Vinyl records
- Analog technology
- Church
- The mountains
- Finding beauty in the ordinary
My hope is that The Pilgrim’s Bookshelf feels a little like pulling up a chair on the front porch and talking about all the little things that matter.
Thanks for stopping by!
-Mark
