One of the biggest fears Christians have is sharing their faith with other people. They feel like they have to say just the right words in just the right way. But it doesn’t have to be that way. Just share your story.
I had the honor of going on the radio yesterday and sharing some of my story on the air. It was a total blast. I’ve had some things happen in my life and lessons that I’ve learned from them. And one of my favorite things to do is to share my journey with other people in the hopes that it will encourage them with theirs.
Here’s the thing, though. I know I’m not the only one. You have a story too. And you need to share it with others.
Look at Jesus. Many of his most powerful messages involved telling stories. He told parables about the kingdom of God. He reminded the Hebrew people of God’s faithfulness by telling them stories.
And you can do the same thing. You can share your story with other people. It doesn’t have to be any grand production. Just talk about where you were before you met God and where he has brought you. I promise you. I promise you. It will encourage people.
Try this experiment: pray and ask God to give you an opportunity to share your story with one other person. And then, as you’re living out your day, listen for any prompting from the Holy Spirit. And then share your story. Make sure to do so from your heart and with respect. You will be amazed at what happens.
